MANIPULATIVE THERAPY

Attention all Fellows of the Canadian Academy of Manipulative Physiotherapy (FCAMPT)


Would you like to earn a Masters of Clinical Science (MClSc) and receive advanced standing for your manual and manipulative therapy courses?


The University of Western Ontario, School of Physical Therapy offers the first distance learning program for FCAMPTs in Canada.


The program is designed to foster professional and research competencies. Those who are registered fellows of CAMPT are given credit for their prior manual and manipulative therapy courses and are required to complete 2 online courses: Research Methods and Knowledge Exchange (PT9600), Advanced Professional Practice (PT9610), and a group Supervised Research Experience (PT9630). Faculty members contributing to the research program include Bert Chesworth, PT PhD, FCAMPT, Dave Walton, PT PhD and Trevor Birmingham, PT PhD, Canada Research Chair in Musculoskeletal Rehabilitation,. Attendance at Western is mandatory for 3 days in early September and 2 days in the second week of July.

Candidates will need to have:

  • 1) A minimum of a baccalaureate degree in physical therapy with a B standing in the final two years;
  • 2) A minimum of two years of clinical experience in orthopaedics;
  • 3) Completed the Level II Upper and Lower courses in the CPA Orthopaedic Division Advanced Orthopaedic Manual and Manipulative Physiotherapy
  • 4) 30 hours of documented mentoring.

Deadline for completed applications for September 2012 is March 2, 2012. Applications may be considered until June 30, 2012 if space is available. For more information, please contact:
