Physiotherapist | Urgent Primary Care and Learning Centre

Kamloops’ Urgent Primary Care and Learning Centre (UPCLC) is seeking to hire a Permanent, Full Time Physiotherapist with specialization in orthopedic manual and manipulative therapy.

Based at Kamloops’ UPCLC, this centre provides urgent care to patients who have health needs requiring attention within 12 to 24 hours, but do not need the level of service found in an Emergency Department. The clinic is modeled towards team-based care with interdisciplinary professionals who support the urgent and ongoing care needs of all patients in the community, whether unattached, attached at the UPCLC or attached elsewhere in the community.

What you will work on:
This is a unique and varied Physiotherapist position positioned within a Medical based team. The position offers opportunity to use critical thinking skills, to work closely with the interdisciplinary team, develop and enhance the primary care skill-set and contribute to valuable ongoing quality improvements at the UPCLC.

Days of work will be on a rotating schedule where hours are 09:30 to 20:43 hours. We offer an exceptional employer-paid benefits package including dental and prescription coverage, group life, and extensive extended health plan, plus up to four weeks’ vacation after your first year of employment. Relocation Allowance package may be offered with position.

How you will create impact:
As a member of the Kamloops’ UPCLC care team, you will work independently and collaboratively providing physiotherapy services. Reporting to the Physiotherapy Professional Practice Leader you will draw upon your ability to identify client and therapist expectations and the client’s desired functional status and quality of life; administer standardized tests and measures; promote functional independence; and enable clients to achieve and maintain optimal health outcomes.

How we will help you grow:
Provide you with an orientation customized to meet your needs. Support and knowledge sharing from established medical and interdisciplinary teams. Numerous educational opportunities are available.

Who we are looking for:
We are looking for knowledgeable Physiotherapist with in-progress or completed CAMPT certification. Experienced in developing client evidence-based, outcome-focused intervention strategies consistent with clients’ needs and goals in order to achieve optimal health outcomes.

If you are a Physiotherapist who strives to make a difference in people’s lives by caring for them with compassion, dignity and respect and could see yourself excelling in an Urgent Primary Care and Learning Centre environment we would love to hear from you!
