Golden Hands Award Winner – John Oldham – 2002

John Oldham received The David Lamb Memorial Award for excellence in manual therapy. It celebrates the career and contributions John has made to our Division over so many years. This award has only been given out once before ,to Cliff Fowler in 1998. John Oldham, Cliff Fowler and David Lamb were instrumental in the development of the E/V system of manual therapy instruction in Canada in 1971. John was the inaugural president of the Orthopaedic Division in 1974. He was involved as an instructor and Chief examiner. He was present at the inception of IFOMT (International Federation of Manipulative Therapists) in 1994 and then became the inaugural president of CAMT (Canadian Academy of Manipulative Therapists) in 1997. Though he has retired from some of these positions, his leadership and vision are just as instrumental to the Division today. The award is in recognition of his generous contributions of time and leadership.
