Course description

Dizziness can be one of the most challenging symptoms to assess and treat. Many clinicians leave school with limited training in vestibular rehabilitation and are often unsure where to start. This course was designed to change that.

The North 49 Vestibular Therapy Foundations Hybrid Course provides a practical, evidence-informed framework to help you confidently assess, diagnose, and manage patients with dizziness, imbalance, and vestibular disorders. Through a combination of online learning, live instruction, hands-on labs, and a live patient demonstration, you will develop skills that can be applied in the clinic immediately.

Topics include:
– BPPV (all canals) and repositioning techniques
– Vestibular hypofunction
– Vestibular migraine
– Persistent Postural-Perceptual Dizziness (PPPD)
– Concussion-related dizziness: Moving beyond the VOMS to guide diagnosis and treatment
– Central vestibular disorders, including HINTS+
– Fall risk and balance assessment
– Practical treatment planning and progression strategies

By the end of the course, you will be able to:
1) Explain vestibular anatomy and physiology in simple, patient-friendly terms
2) Perform and interpret a comprehensive vestibular assessment
3) Identify who will benefit from vestibular rehabilitation and who requires further investigation or referral
4) Develop effective treatment plans for common vestibular conditions
5) Set realistic expectations regarding recovery timelines and outcomes

Whether you are new to vestibular rehabilitation, work with concussion patients, or are looking for a practical refresher, this course will help you move from uncertainty to confidence.

Our goal is simple: that you leave excited and prepared to see your next patient with dizziness on Monday morning, equipped with skills that can improve both patient outcomes and your clinical confidence.’
