Course description

This 16-hour hybrid course combines online learning with in-person, hands-on training to provide physiotherapists with a clear, structured approach to assessing and treating dizziness and balance disorders. Participants complete 4 hours of online pre-course content covering vestibular epidemiology, anatomy and physiology, focused history taking, oculomotor assessment, and management of posterior canal BPPV prior to the live course.

The 12-hour in-person component utilizes live lecture along with dedicated lab time to build hands-on competence and confidence. A live patient assessment and demonstration will also be performed to allow participants to observe real-world clinical reasoning, examination sequencing, and treatment decision-making.

Course content includes assessment and treatment of BPPV (all canals), vestibular hypofunction, motion sensitivity and PPPD, vestibular migraine, concussion-related dizziness, cervicogenic dizziness, fall risk, and central vestibular disorders. Participants will also learn about vestibular investigations such as vHIT, caloric testing, and imaging findings, and to integrate these results into effective treatment plans.

By the end of this foundational/intermediate level course, clinicians will be able to confidently perform vestibular assessments, interpret findings, select appropriate interventions, educate patients, and set realistic expectations for recovery. Participants receive access to practical resources including slide PDFs, clinical handouts, video demonstrations, key references, and a certificate of completion.
