Winnipeg Introductory Vestibular Rehab course May 4/5, 2018
Email for information on the Advanced course on May 6, 2018
The introductory course is a comprehensive, evidence based approach to assessing and managing dizziness, vertigo, motion sensitivity, compromised gaze stability and imbalance resulting from peripheral and central vestibular disorders. The course includes an in-depth section on BPPV incorporating all the treatment maneuvers and ample practical time. Additional assessment and treatment techniques pertinent to chronic vestibular dysfunctions are reviewed with practical time provided.
The role of vestibular rehabilitation in concussion management has been growing rapidly and a section of the course has been devoted to this area of practice. More recently, the role of vision assessment and vision therapy has proven to be an effective intervention in Post Concussion Syndrome. Utilizing vision therapy in patients with vestibular dysfunctions has also proven to be a dynamic and effective group of interventions and clinically, the improvements in some clients can be compelling. A significant component of the course incorporates a review of these interventions. At the end of this course, participants will be ready to assess and implement effective treatment interventions in a diverse patient population.
