Lauren Watson

Partner Liaison

My name is Lauren Watson.  I live and practice in North Vancouver.  I have worked in Orthopaedic private practice for 22 years and went through the Ortho Div courses between 2001-2005.  I received my FCAMPT in 2005.

I was involved in setting up the BC Section of the Ortho Div in 2001.  We had a committee of 6-8 members throughout my time as Chair between 2001-2011.  Our main focus was delivering the Ortho Div courses as efficiently and effectively as possible.  We supported the members and instructors through quarter yearly meetings, arranged guest speakers and education sessions, started a website, developed a Newsletter (paper and mailed to all the members – how things have changed!).  We moved course registration and advertising to an online format (again, a big deal back then!).

As a BC Section, we lacked clarity and support in terms of how we could work with other Provincial Sections/Units and could collaborate with the National Division.  This Stakeholder Liaison role appeals to me because I would like to contribute to a team that has a goal of supporting all the provinces, making the commitment to understanding their needs and working to integrate them into the National Division.  I am looking forward to my new position with the National Ortho Executive – thank you for this opportunity!
