Adjunct Education Course – Foundations of Therapeutic Exercise – 2024

Course Structure:

The course involves 6-8 hours of online self-directed learning followed by a 2x 2hr workshops (live zoom) focusing on application and technical skill refining.

Course Objectives:

This course will examine current evidence-based and best practice approaches to the inclusion of exercise for the rehabilitation of common musculoskeletal injuries.

Topics will include:

Review of basic exercise physiology and exercise principles.
Assessment and monitoring of exercise and functional capacity.
Goal oriented exercise selection and application during various stages of rehab.
(Acute, chronic, motor control issues, performance, and well-being)
Recovery strategies to support tissue recovery and adaptation.
A case-based practical application workshop.
Review of common evidence based soft tissue-rehab guidelines.
